Re: Bielsa
He absolutely would not. Needs total control. Rightly so. I wanted him when we fucked up and got that useless swan eater Bilic.

Re: Bielsa
it's pretty hard to prove who invented the 'high press' but Biesla is widely credited with introducing it in Europe.

but obviously you know more than Pep and everyone else.

Re: Bielsa
pep may have said that but he didn't invent the pressing style so how is he a genius? if pep asked you to suck him off, would you?

He sits on a bucket

Re: Bielsa
Strikes me that he would work well in tandem with another manager if his ego would allow... he would make a great coach, instilling work ethic and developing players alongside a calming influence like El Pell.

Can't see a club forking out for 2 though.

we should be celebrating that a young upcoming English manager out witted the Great Bielsa last night

Oh he improves players all right, everyone agrees on that. He just doesn't get results for his clubs.

"My admiration for Marcelo Bielsa is huge because he makes the players much, much better,"

"Still, I didn't meet one guy, a former player from Marcelo Biesla who speaks no good about him.

"They are grateful about his influence on their careers in football.”

Not my words, the words of Pep.
Bielsa is a genius.

Re: Bielsa
Not really my theory, Darby_, son. Plenty of people been saying this about him for some time now.

There were various people on here predicting it would happen to Leeds this year and it looks like it did. I quite like that 3-3-3-1 shape he's supposed to have invented, if you've got the right players. He might well do it next year, but only if he adapts or the division falls away. Sustained success, though ? No chance, not without changing his ways.

One thing that did occurre to me about Bielsa the other day is a parallel with El Pell. Are both overly wedded to an approach that just might not function long term at our level ?

Hopefully, what he did at Villareal and Malaga suggests otherwise, but I'm not entirely convinced.

England ain't Spain, as I've recently noticed. We've also seen clubs that looked better run than ours (don’t they fuckin’ all) – the likes of Swansea and Southampton – try comparable approaches and come properly unstuck.

Things is, I don’t give a toss. I just want to see us play some fucking football, not that anti-sport shite we’ve had to suffer for years under the likes of that fat cunt. And if it all goes tits up, at least we get to see those other three cunts taking it in the arse.

It’ll be interesting to see if Mart O’s theory about an unsustainable playstyle is true and they start falling off a cliff.

Re: Bielsa
Funny game that one.
I get so used to Prem/CL standard of football that my jaw drops when I see some of the basic stuff that these teams dont do.

And the Leeds keeper.. wtf? Can no one tell him not to keep coming for stuff?

Re: Bielsa
I think Leeds will walk the championship next year. Of the three relegated sides both Cardiff and Huddersfield will more than likely drop to obscurity again, and Fulham have a huge rebuilding job.

It might even be better for them to have 2 years building under him.
